121 HOMEHELP COVID-19 UPDATES
How 121 Homehelp Is Responding to COVID-19 and a resource for the changes we've made to support you and our communities during this challenging time.
In this unprecedented time, it has never been more important for us to stay connected with our communities and help keep everyone safe, especially when entering your homes.
We would like to reassure you that we are still operational during this COVID-19 pandemic and below you will find some small changes we have made to follow the guidelines of Health Organizations, local councils and governments.
Whilst working in people’s homes we need to minimise any risk of passing infection on to other people.
Whilst working in your home we will:
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) wherever possible to do so
- wash our hands more often than usual for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing, sneezing or blowing our nose
- cover our mouth when we cough or sneeze with a tissue or sleeve - not our hands – and throw the tissue in the bin immediately and wash our hands
- clean objects and surfaces that we touch regularly, using our usual cleaning products
- always carry hand sanitiser with us
- follow hygiene measures when household goods are delivered to a home
- collect shopping, household goods & prescriptions in bulk, where possible, to reduce how often we visit shops
- get rid of waste in bulk if possible and dispose of all used PPE
To minimise risk from travelling to/from your home we will:
- regularly clean company vehicles used for transport
- limit the number of passengers
- match workers to nearby locations to limit any transport
- allocate workers to the same teams and homes every day
- make appointments over the phone wherever possible
We will be unable to visit you if you are in self-isolation, if you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms, for the recommended time.
Any of our employees that display any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19 will be self-isolated for 14 days.
We are monitoring Government advice around local lockdowns and we will highlight any specific area affected should they arise.
